Utile wood for a bespoke dining table
Made from a single piece of utile wood, this bespoke wooden dining table was made from a board that was originally 8 metres long. I designed a suitable structure to support the weight of the top, which was 90mm thick. The board of wood was inherited by the new owner of the sawmill and had been sitting unused for many years.
Size: 5 metres long x 1.2 metres wide
Custom-made table
Due to its size, only power tools and hand tools could be used to flatten and trim the table top to size for this bespoke dining table. Natural oils were used to bring out the warm grain of the table.
